More N95 masks on ambulances

The EMS Department has now distributed 6 N95 masks to each ambulance, and 3 N95 masks to each zone car.  The molded masks are packaged in Tupperware containers.  The fold-flat masks are in “Health Kits” that have been bundled in Ziploc bags.

Example packages:

Some ambulances may have additional N95 masks provided by the volunteer rescue squad.

Also, when documenting your case in Elite…

IF your primary or secondary impression is either:

  • Cold or flu symptoms
  • Difficulty breathing

OR the symptoms include any of:

  • Cough
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Malaise
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sore throat

…then the system will require you to document your use of PPE.  Doing so will help us track inventory.

Finally, three excellent and very short videos on Donning PPE (2 min 12 sec), Doffing PPE (2 min 42 sec), and Handwashing (54 sec) are available here:
