Just wanted to provide a couple updates on some technology initiatives:
- EMR Hardware Replacement – we are in process of acquiring some demo units to deploy to the field of a couple different models of devices. Based on field trials, user feedback, and other variables we will be replacing the current Toughbooks across the system
- MDC Hardware Replacement – the Toughbook 33 demo models installed in some units are being swapped out with a Dell brand device to continue field testing. Once a determination is made procurement and installation of new devices will probably run through the summer
- Facility Security – all EMS and EMS/FD stations are on track for Lenel security access control system (proximity ID card readers) installation. Some are already done, many are still in progress. Buildings that already had Lenel systems are also expanding, as many had 1 door with Lenel and cypher locks on other doors. This allows EMS, FD, and the rest of the City to better control access and enhance security, especially compared to the cypher locks on most stations
- LP15 – all EMS and FD LP15’s have been replaced in recent months with the latest model (LP15 version 4). Review the attached document reference the FD specific LP15 equipment, should you be in a position where you need to utilize it. Also attached is VBFD rehab information, should you be assigned to perform that function at a fire or other incident
Lynette and I both appreciate all the people providing feedback and ideas on Elite, CAD, and anything else tech-related. Thank you for the communication and working to help keep our systems running, and improving.
