Matthew Lindewirth Joins VB Rescue – EMS as Deputy Chief

Chief Ed Brazle announced on Monday that Matthew Lindewirth has joined VB Rescue – EMS as a Deputy Chief.

Lindewirth arrives at VB Rescue with more than 27 years of prehospital experience, 25 of which have been at the Paramedic level. His EMS career began in 1997 as a volunteer paramedic/firefighter in St. Charles County, Missouri. Lindewirth later served as the EMS Chief for Berkley County, South Carolina from 2016 to 2018 before joining Cole County EMS in the same role.

Outside of EMS, Lindewirth has served as an enlisted member of the US. Navy and Air Force, and is currently a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy Reserves.

Chief Lindewirth will oversee the Support Services branch of VB Rescue – EMS, including Administrative Services, Training and Performance Management.
