On behalf of Chief Bruce W. Edwards, we regret to announce the death of Virginia Beach EMS and Kempsville Volunteer Rescue Squad Life Member Mel Losick. Mel joined EMS in 1970, advancing to the Paramedic level. He served in numerous roles throughout his career, including field supervisor, squad truck team and squad commander. Most recently he was an active member of the department’s Support Services Team. A very active instructor, Mel left his mark on countless EMTs and medics across the region during his EMS career.

The family will be sitting Shiva from Saturday 10/17 through Sunday 10/18 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at 2829 Browning Drive, Virginia Beach, VA. There will also be a celebration of his life on October 25, 2015 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the West Neck Clubhouse on Signature Drive, Virginia Beach, VA, 23456.
