VB Rescue Providers Assist in Naval Air Station Oceana Air Show MCI Drill

In preparation for the return of the Oceana Air Show, VB Rescue providers participated in the annual Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Drill at Naval Air Station Oceana.

VB Rescue volunteer and career providers played critical roles in the triaging and transport of mock patients, simulating a MCI scenario at the Air Show. Each Air Show features heavy presence from public safety agencies across the Tidewater region, including VB Rescue providers.

The drill, which is required by the U.S. Navy before any air show, was hosted by the Navy Regional Mid-Atlantic Fire and EMS Department and supported by VB Rescue, the Virginia Beach Fire Department, Virginia Beach Police, Virginia Beach Emergency Management, Hampton Fire & Rescue and the Tidewater EMS Council.

The Oceana Air Show is scheduled to return on Sept. 17 and 18 at Naval Air Station Oceana, and VB Rescue will assist in medical standby coverage throughout the event.
